Back in October of 2019, Phase I of the University of Minnesota Knoll Area Infrastructure Improvement project wrapped up. The University leveraged its Extended Reduced Operations status due to the COVID-19 pandemic and began Phase II early this spring. Phase II focuses on the reconstruction of the Institute for Child Development (ICD) access drive, as well as several other necessary updates to the surrounding area’s infrastructure.
With the earlier start date, our construction team has made substantial progress on the repairs to existing utility tunnels. Key highlights include the formation and pouring of tunnel footings, installation of rebar for the tunnel walls, and completion of the tunnel wall’s concrete pour.
The LCC team gives a shout out to our subcontractors and partners with thanks for their hard work over the course of Phase I and Phase II. We will bring updates on the progress of Knoll Phase II as it continues to move forward!
