Loeffler Construction & Consulting has been selected as the Construction Manager at Risk for the University of Minnesota Knoll Area Infrastructure Improvement Project. The project, slated to begin next spring, integrates several utility and roadway improvement needs on the Minneapolis East Bank Campus into one coordinated construction effort. The project is anticipated to be completed in two phases (Summer 2019 & Summer 2020) due to the scale and complexity of the work.
The improvements include the reconstruction of East River Road (University owned portion) between University Avenue and the Norris Parking Lot; reconstruction of Pillsbury Drive between East River Road and Pleasant Street; reconstruction of the Institute for Child Development (ICD) access drive; access and parking improvements for public and University/Vendor vehicles; bicycle parking and pedestrian access and mobility improvements; replacement of underground electrical, communication, storm/sanitary sewers and water main utilities; shallow tunnel repair/replacement along with associated steam/condensate piping; chilled water lines; security improvements; and restoration of disturbed areas.
After wrapping up the University of Minnesota North Church Street Reconstruction this past summer with HTPO, we are excited to be working with them again on this important project!
