Loeffler Construction & Consulting welcomes two employees to the team – Construction Executive Colin Bigalke and Senior Project Engineer Lucas Johnson.

Colin started working in construction in 1987 when he worked his way through college as a laborer and carpenter for commercial concrete and single family residential contractors. His professional career started as a project engineer with promotions along the way to Superintendent, Project Manager, and Estimator. He has successfully handled roles estimating and managing self-performed demolition, concrete, masonry, and carpentry work as well as working as a full-time estimator for multifamily and mixed use projects. He has a broad range of experience as a Project Manager and Senior Project Manager successfully completing new construction and tenant improvements at churches, K-12 schools, restaurants, professional service buildings, data centers, big box retail, and multi-family housing projects with the occasional once in a lifetime opportunity like a coal storage building thrown in . Historic renovations, insurance claim projects, and sustainability also show up on the resume of projects delivered via hard bid, negotiation, best value, design build, design assist, and as an owner/developer/builder.

Lucas’ optimistic, analytical, and authentic nature makes him an asset to every project. With the highest level of ethics as his guide he serves his teams with the goal of “win-win success” for all parties involved and enjoys making meaningful relationships along the way. Lucas graduated with honors from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Construction Engineering and is a certified LEED Green Associate. His background helps teams successfully bring construction projects from the drawing board to reality. In his spare time Lucas could generally be described as an adventurous hobbyist, but some of his regular activities include staying active in the gym, flying his paramotor, or battling his wife in board games.
