UMN Murphy Hall Office and Lab Remodel

The Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication (HSJMC) office and lab remodel involve the renovation of nearly 9,000 square feet of existing media labs, library, and small group spaces in the lower level of the University of Minnesota’s Murphy Hall. Consequently, the remodel’s design is heavily focused on issues of spatial organization, technology, circulation, and accessibility.

Technology needs were carefully coordinated between HSJMC’s user groups, university departments, a technology consultant, and Cuningham Group’s internal team. Transparency was enhanced by bringing daylight deep into the space.
