Loeffler provided the City of Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board with a Conceptual Pricing Estimate for the renovation of the Elliot Skate Park. Originally built in 2004, the existing skate park will be removed, and replaced with a premier street-style skate park featuring a skateable seat wall, quarter pipe, rail and ledges.
Two new rainwater gardens and a new permeable patio to help infiltrate runoff from the skate park are also included in the scope of this project. The City of Minneapolis faced a growing need for adequate and safe skate parks to provide support for the large skating community. Partnering with several local and national skating experts, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board approved The Minneapolis Skate Park Activity Plan in 2018, which called for the addition of 21 new skate parks to better align with the city population and spread.
