Loeffler Construction & Consulting is looking for a full-time Estimator II!
Are you curious, hard-working, and like to make a difference? Loeffler is seeking a highly detailed individual to join the construction team. The Estimator II is responsible for providing full-scope estimates and preconstruction services with limited supervision to the construction team to secure profitable work and deliver value to our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Estimator II is responsible for providing full-scope estimates and preconstruction services to the construction team in order to secure profitable work and deliver value to our clients. Continue to nurture established relationships with subcontractors, owners, architects, and developers is paramount. Business Development requirements include researching leads, attending meetings with potential clients, attending networking events, actively engaging in industry/trade associations, and performing at a level that produces repeat work.
The Estimator II will assist the project team with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Work with the construction operations team and other estimators to develop conceptual and detailed estimates.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs and application of unit pricing to determine project budgets for assigned scopes contained in the Contract Documents.
- Ensure proper subcontractor/supplier coverage and response by diligent follow-up on the bid solicitation.
- Review and scope subcontractor proposals for accuracy, notifying necessary parties of irregularities or errors. Prepare preliminary general conditions estimates for review by Vice President.
- Develop value engineering and other cost reduction strategies.
- Lead in the preparation of preliminary construction project schedule.
- Attend project meetings with architects, engineers, and clients on a regular basis. Prepare meeting agendas & take minutes.
- Collaborate with internal Cost Consulting department on pricing and market conditions.
- Prepare for project interviews by rehearsing and performing advance research.
Education
- A bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
Skills, Abilities and Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3+) years’ experience as a Project Estimator or similar construction experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of a variety of estimating software, including Desitini and Procore is desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
