Walter Library is home to the newest server bank at the University of Minnesota. The Minnesota Super Computing Institute (MSI) purchased a new HP computer called Mesabi, which provides 674 Tflop/s of peak performance and 67 TB of RAM to faculty and researches at the university. Loeffler Construction was awarded the project to replace old equipment and upgrade the electrical and cooling systems to allow for a seamless transition to the new supercomputer. Loeffler was also responsible for coordinating and completing final connections to the new HP computer equipment. This 3,700 SF server room was completed in December of 2014.
